Supported Volunteering Opportunities
City Bridge are funding us to reach out to more disabled people and carers across Bromley borough. As part of this, we can now offer practical support for people who would like to volunteer with us but need a bit of extra help to do so. Some examples of this could be helping with mobility or making documents more accessible.
We particularly want to recruit volunteers to help us get the message out about our work. You could help us with this in our office, emailing community groups with information. Or you could go to meetings to tell people about our work. All volunteers will get full support and training, whatever they do.
We are also keen to help young local disabled people and carers to build up confidence and get involved in their local community, through mentoring and support. You may be surprised to find how many opportunities there are to have your say about local services. Our team are experts in finding ways to make involvement accessible. It doesn’t matter if you are used to going out and about and getting involved, or if you have never done anything like that before – we can support you and help you gain confidence – and have a lot of fun on the way!
